Brattleboro-West Arts Fine Art & Craft December Sale at River Gallery School

During the month of December, the sixth annual Brattleboro-West Arts Fine Art and Craft Sale will bring works by 10 of the group’s members to a new downtown venue for them: the River Gallery School.

All month, BWA artists will showcase their pottery, jewelry, woodenware and home accessories, paintings, encaustics and photographs in the school’s Gallery 34, located at 34 Main St. There will be an opening reception for the gallery show from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 6, coinciding with the town’s monthly Gallery Walk. The gallery will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. On weekdays, it will be open by chance or appointment by calling River Gallery School at (802) 257-1577 or Jen Wiechers at (802) 258-8054.

On Dec. 14 and 15, there will be an expanded sale of work by the artists, in the classroom space adjoining Gallery 34 at 36 Main St. This sale will offer a larger selection of fine art and craft for your gift-giving pleasure. Special hours for that weekend sale will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Snow Farm Seconds Sale

Snow Farm’s Seconds Sale starts November 15th and runs for three weekends! My work will be well represented there at greatly reduced prices. It’s not such a great thing that I ended up with so many seconds this year but you could benefit from it. Lots of clearance pieces too that need good homes.

League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair – Shop at the Fair and Art, Craft & Design exhibit

The “Shop at the Fair”, a consignment tent right in the middle of the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair has a display of my work that is available for sale until Sunday August 11th. You will find a wide selection of my colored clay pottery such as lamps, vases, trays, platters, butter dishes, cups and much more.

At the “Art, Craft & Design” exhibit, also in the middle of the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair but up the hill, you will see two of my pieces that I pushed a bit beyond what I have done before.  The teapot with the grapevine handle and two matching cups pictured below is one of them. The handle is attached to the teapot with finely twined brass wire and I think it is complimentary to the spirit of the teapot.  The other is a berry bowl that is made by pinching, carving and shaping.

Of course in addition to my work there are 300 booths with high quality, mind-blowing crafts, demonstrations, workshops, food and music!

Demonstrating at the first weekend of the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair

This is a chance to get a window into my layering and patterning colored clay process.  I will be demonstrating my techniques and making pieces on Saturday August 3rd at the new “Art, Craft and Design” tent (formerly “Living with Craft” and “Craft Wear” exhibits).  On Sunday August 4th  I will be demonstrating on the patio outside of the main lodge.

My work will be for sale in “The Shop at the Fair” on the two days that I will be demonstrating only: August 3rd & 4th.  I will have a few pieces in the “Art, Craft and Design” exhibit for sale as well for the whole nine days of the League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair.

Putney School Dynamic

Opening reception is Sunday March 31st 1-3pm

I am honored to exhibit my work with my very creative colleagues at The Putney School where I am in year 21 of teaching ceramics.

C X Silver Gallery is pleased to present ‘Putney School Dynamic’ March 26 – May 12, a group show celebrating the creativity, exploration and passion of Putney School faculty and staff. The painting, drawing, prints, sculpture and video are from contemplation, the joy of doing and learning, the documenting of inner and outer observations, connecting with the archetypal and the elemental, windows into the unique trajectories of Sue Brearey, Brian Cohen, Gordon Jones, Naomi Lindenfeld, Rodrigo Nava, Andy Reichsman, Kate Purdie, Betsy Rogers, Donald Saaf, Cai Silver, Lynne Weinstein, Le Xi, Julia Zanes.
